If you have been involved in a car accident, whiplash and back injuries need to be taken very seriously. Florida law requires you to seek attention within the first 2 weeks or you lose your insurance benefits. Because symptoms of a whiplash injury can take weeks or months to manifest, it is easy to be fooled into thinking that you are not as injured as you really are.

If you've been in a car accident and have suffered an automobile injury, we strongly suggest that you come in for a chiropractic evaluation as soon as you're able to – especially if you're experiencing one or more of the following symptoms:

Auto Accident

• Neck pain
• Low back pain
• Headaches
• Jaw Pain
• Radiating pain down the arms or legs
• Shoulder pain
• Hip pain
• Numbness / "Pins & Needles"
• Muscle spasms / Stiffness
• Dizziness
• Vertigo (sense of rotation or movement)

Too often people don't seek treatment following a car accident because they don't feel hurt.  While cuts, scrapes and broken bones are easy to detect, auto accidents also cause subtle spinal and nerve damage, which manifest later through headaches, limited mobility and lower back pain. These effects make it harder to sleep, focus and enjoy your daily activities.

By far, the most common injury to the neck is a whiplash injury. Whiplash is caused by a sudden movement of the head, either backward, forward, or sideways, that results in the damage to the supporting muscles, ligaments and other connective tissues in the neck and upper back.

Unfortunately, by the time more serious complications develop, some of the damage from the injury may have become permanent. Numerous studies have shown that years after whiplash victims settle their insurance claims, roughly half of them state that they still suffer with symptoms from their injuries. If you have been in a motor vehicle or any other kind of accident, don't assume that you escaped injury if you are not currently in pain.

At Beachside Chiropractic, we care about you and your health. We are committed to treating these problems at their source.

We are dedicated to helping those involved in auto accidents to start the healing process, serving the greater Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, and Holly Hill areas.
